An interesting article in Architect, the magazine of the American Institue of Architects examines what an architects brain looks like.
KC Collins, Painter, Charleston, SC
What I love about KC’s work is that she has a very atmospheric approach to painting. Her paintings appear to be abstract and yet are very true to life. Her ethereal landscapes and portraits have won her several awards, most recently, she was awarded the 2010 Mayor’s Choice Award at Piccolo Spoleto and third place at the Festival of Masters in Orlando, FL.
After studying art history she was inspired by the work of JWM Turner, Franz Klein, and Gerhard Richter. Her contemporary influences included abstract landscape artists Anne Stahl and Elin Neuman.

Nate Ronniger, Painter, Arizona
As a company that works closely with furniture design, it is no surprise that we had an instant interest in this weeks featured artist: Nate Ronniger. We were drawn to the simple, well designed objects that are explored in Ronniger’s Designer Chair series. He has taken minature, designer chair replicas and created intriguing subjects in his paintings.
In the past Ronniger has exhibited his work at Bonner David Galleries in Scottsdale. You can view more of Nate’s paintings via the web.
