Noelle Visconti, Photographer, St.Peters, Missouri

ARTIST STATEMENT: I can’t paint, I can’t draw. I had thousands of ideas and visions and nowhere to release them, until I found the art of photography. For the first time, I’ve been able to express all my emotions and passions with a click. I dream photos and live photos.

Xochi Solis, Painter, Austin, Texas

This week, painter Xochi Solis caught our eye, with her love of color and simplicity. Xochi builds up small painted collages – stacks of discrete blobular forms pasted onto museum board. Foremost among Xochi’s creative influences is the city of Austin itself. Her work is easily recognizable for its vibrant color and shapes, which are all inspired by a vast amount of textures and materials, such as objects like paint chips from local hardware stores, paper, plastics, vinyl and clippings from science books.

We are loving the GERRIT RIETVELD collection.

Dutch minimalist architect and designer Gerrit Rietveld was a member of the De Stijl movement. Significant for his work is how he pared his design down to basic cubist elements and often used primary colours to emphasise the different planes. Most of his furniture was designed and manufactured to accompany his architectural commissions.
